Moving Through the Olympics
As we enter the New Year, Neer Service anticipate that our partners around the world will start to receive more questions about moving to the Paris area during the period of the Olympics Games.
To help you deal with those enquiries, we would like to provide you with the latest information that we have to help relieve any concerns about moving to the city in the Summer of 2024.
Will it be possible to move to Paris during the Olympics?
Paris is a large area! Although people understandably think of the center of the city, the residential areas extend a great distance. For this reason, unless your customer is moving to a home close to an Olympic venue, it is unlikely their move will be affected.
Where are the Olympic Venues?
As you can see, city center Olympic venues are concentrated in only a few areas. For security purposes, the areas in red are highly restricted. but Neer Service can receive permission to enter and work in both blue and red areas.
Will road closures affect moving services?
We continue to wait for official confirmation of road closures from the authorities. We do know that certain roads and highways will have restricted lanes for athletes, officials, and journalists. We anticipate that the date of the opening of the games on July 26, will be problematic in the city center.
Will there be any other issues affecting relocation?
The influx of spectators, organizers, and other people associated with the Olympic Games will place greater pressure on short-term accommodation during this period. It is therefore recommended that customers make any such arrangements well in advance of their relocation and consider short term accommodation outside of the city.
How can we best prepare?
As advised, it is highly likely that your customers move will not be affected by the Olympic Games but it is always better to be safe than sorry.
